ALEX LASKER (screenwriter) is a UCLA Film School graduate, who wrote and directed two international award-winning dramatic shorts and who was an American Film Institute directing fellow from 1974 to 1975. In addition to "BEYOND RANGOON," Lasker's credits include co-writing the Clint Eastwood action-adventure "Firefox" and the HBO original feature "Doublecrossed," which starred Dennis Hopper, and which won the Cable Ace Award for "Best Cable Movie" in 1991. Lasker also wrote "The White River," a Fox Television feature directed by Martin ("Apartment Zero") Donovan and has recently adapted the novel "Sugarland" for Academy Award-winning producer-director Norman Jewison.
